Wood Australia Minerals & Metals team is currently delivering critical metals projects, including Copper, Gold, Nickel, Lithium, Vanadium, Rare Earths, and Base Metals. This portfolio of projects range from Studies through to EPCM packages working on developments in Australia and internationally.
This role will see you join our Project Services team in Perth which supports our Study and Project Delivery teams as a Project Controller, providing cost control, planning, and progress reporting duties. Our team supports both our Brisbane and Perth business, across Cost Control, Planning and Document Control disciplines. We partner with our stakeholder to deliver quality services to ensure success and quality within our project delivery.
As a key part of our team, your role will involve supporting the setup of new studies and projects to allow for successful project and client reporting through our Cost Management System, Convero, as well as the ongoing reporting of hours, cost and budget variances. Reporting to the Project Manager via Power BI dashboards, you will provide cost variance analysis and progress reporting to agreed deadlines and within the guidelines of the project controls processes and procedures.
Change Management is an integral part of project controls and you will be expected to provide the relevant guidance and support to project personnel to ensure all project changes are captured, reported and managed in a timely manner with the client. In addition to the cost support, you will work with the project teams and provide progress updates in Primavera P6 schedules against deliverables.
About You
Your career to date has been within Project Controls, particularly in the areas of cost and/or schedule management within an EPC/EPCM/Client sector. Your experience working in resources sector within project delivery will have seen you built a solution focused mindset and a can-do attitude, with passion in contributing to positive team cultures.
In addition, but not limited to;
- Ideally you will have 3+ years’ experience in a similar role and experience in the energy industry (preferable mining while advantageous to have a degree in a relevant technical or business discipline, it is not essential.
- Prior experience in Convero, P6 and Power BI are advantageous but not essential to this role as training will be provided.
- Proficiency with industry standard software including Microsoft Excel and cost control programmes
- You must be an Australian citizen or currently hold Permanent Residency (PR) and able to work lawfully in Australia without company sponsorship.
