The Project Coordinator is responsible for delivering the project outcomes of the Fruit Growers Victoria (FGV) Safety and Wellbeing in the Fruit Industry Project. The Project will deliver safety and mental health and wellbeing tools for growers and the broader workforce in the fruit industry.
The project aims to
- To ensure safety and wellbeing of workforce in fruit industry
2. To reduce the number of workplace hazards and injuries in fruit industry
3. Mental health and wellbeing promotion for growers and workforce in fruit industry
Capability Statement:
- Project management experience with quality results and adherence to timelines and budget.
- A good understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety
- Excellent networking skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work closely with project stakeholders (e.g. Agriculture Victoria, WorkSafe, Fruit growers, Shepparton Ethnic Council, CALD community members)
- Self-motivated with highly effective time management and organisational skills.
- The ability to priorities project activities to meet project milestones.
- A practical knowledge of the Horticultural industry is preferred, but not essential.
Key Success Indicators:
- Adherence to outcomes and timelines in Grant Agreement with the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions
- Develop two WorkSafe compliant safety videos to build employee awareness on cold room safety and working at heights in orchards, by working closely with WorkSafe consultants.
- Facilitate video shoot (locations around Shepparton)
- Translate the video scripts to 5 different languages commonly used by seasonal workers, using a professional translation service
- Work with community members to voiceover the safety videos
- Organise a free webinar on mental health and wellbeing focused on growers and their employees.
