About the role
This position is a Fixed Term, full-time role of 12 months duration in the Work Health and Safety team, based at the Moruya Administration Office. The successful candidate will Coordinate the development, publishing and implementation of Council’s Safety Management System (SMS).
Your main duties will include:
- Develop and implement of Council’s Safety Management System within agreed timeframes to agreed standard.
- Provide progress reports on project status to the various levels of Council’s leadership team and to Council’s WHS leadership group.
- Work with the leadership team and key stakeholders to ensure SMS is organisation specific and fit for purpose.
- Create project documentation and in collaboration with stakeholders, develop strategies to address gaps and risks identified.
- Oversee the operational achievement of implementation of plan milestones.
- Develop and implement a communication and engagement strategy.
- Development of planning for the maintenance of staff engagement and embeddedness.
- Design and implement an analysis and review strategy for ongoing system effectiveness.
Total remuneration for the role is in the range $4,212.72 to $4,508.53 gross per fortnight consisting of:
- $3,795.24 to $4,061.74 base salary
- $417.48 to $446.79 superannuation (at 11%)

The ideal candidate holds Workplace Health and Safety in the highest regard and makes it their priority to implement continual improvement. You will be able to put your tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety to use in this role and will be someone who has considerable experience in policy writing and procedural development.
