About the opportunity
The Project Data Officerwill utilise computer-aided design (CAD) and operational database management systems. The role will perform data operating duties for the nominated MazeMap system, and desk booking tool including, creating and modifying architectural plans for all campuses, creating indoor and outdoor mapping, and building and synchronizing a building data inventory to the system. The position will provide a level of interaction and liaison with various support groups within the University, the ICT team, the UI Planning team and service providers.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Work on specific projects that focus on the continual improvement of the Wayfinding tool and the Desk Booking tool to ensure they meet current and future business needs
- conduct onsite inspections to collect necessary information to complete your tasks
- insert pathways and points of interest data by inputting information into the Maze maps application from source documents of architectural drawings
- assist in identifying issues, communicating to clients, escalating to Manager, and resolving them in a timely manner, respond to queries for information and access relevant files
- compile, verify accuracy and sort information according to priorities to prepare source data for system entry, review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output, research and obtain further information for incomplete drawings
- perform work activities relevant to the role's key accountabilities as approved by the Manager and commensurate to the role's classification level
About you
- has prior experience working with Geographic Information System (GIS) such as MazeMap or similar
- prior experience with Adobe photoshop, illustrator and CAD software will be advantageous but not necessary
- demonstrated experience creating and modifying architectural drawings
- has excellent stakeholder management skills, able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office product, particularly Excel
