The business is a strong tier 2 contractor with a strength in building high quality units, mixed use commercial, aged care and hotels, typically 5-15 storey, valued at $15M - $50M. They are a client builder working with private clients, often on a repeat business. Employ approx. 80 staff with a sole QLD focus with projects across the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane and Gold Coast. The business has been built on family values of honesty and integrity, while embracing new systems and processes in-keeping with the tier 2 market.
The initial Project:
Project manage the following;
- $25M Hotel Project located nr Surfers Paradise
- 7 levels l 100+ bedrooms l gymnasium l swimming pool l terrace bar area
- D&C Project
- Project commencement in July / August 2024 - start in June or July!
The position:
You will be based on the Gold Coast, between site and their offices on the Northern end of the Gold Coast overseeing projects and your delivery team. Reporting to the Construction Manager you will direct & supervise a wide cross section of sub-contractors and be proficient programming and budgeting. You will have a sound contractual understanding and importantly you will be required to utilize your excellent communication & interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and architects, whilst continually representing the company in a professional manner. You will continually strive to deliver this project to a high standard to programme and budget.
To be suitable for this position it is anticipated that you will possess the following;
- Ideally a degree in Construction Management or similar tertiary qualification.
- Will have worked in the construction industry for a minimum of 15 years, ideally in the form Project Engineer, CA and of course a Project Manager position.
- As a Project Manager you must have delivered high end unit and/or Hotel Projects for a building contractors to the value of $30M+
- Must have managed muti-level construction projects.
- Will have experience as a PM in the mid-tier / tier 2 market
- Will have worked with established systems and processes in keeping with the tier 2 construction space.
- Will take pride in your work and want to deliver quality projects to your client.
- Will be based on the Gold Coast and will, ideally have a good understanding of the market having delivered projects here previously.
