As a Project Manager, you will provide specialist support across multiple portfolios to implement project management best practices and ensure quality reporting is applied throughout the lifecycle of strategic project and program management activities of varying scales and complexities.
You will support leaders and project staff in driving and implementing PMO services and capability support to enable DE to successfully deliver its Strategic Plan.
As well as being accountable for DE values and behaviours, your role has the following specific key accountabilities:
- Support and manage assigned portfolios to best effect, ensuring projects and programs are aligned to agreed PMO direction, values, standards, and frameworks
- Provide technical leadership and support to team members and other teams across DE to drive alignment with project management standards and ongoing alignment of activities within each portfolio to identify benefits and meet business outcomes
- Effectively support the management of delivery risks and issues in programs and projects
- Identify trends across the portfolio and share these insights and recommended approaches through the provision of capability programmes or improvement plans
- Monitor program and project change requests to ensure alignment with business cases and benefits expected
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience at a Project Manager level in a complex EPMO environment, ideally with experience working on non-ICT policy reform/ transformation programs and projects
- Proven experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of portfolio, program and project methodologies and reporting
- Demonstrable experience reviewing key project and program documentation and working with teams to deliver quality outputs
- Exceptional organisational skills in prioritising and managing workloads
- Experience in using relevant systems in a PMO environment and relevant financial management experience
- A recognised project or programme management professional qualification, i.e. PRINCE2/ Agile and Managing Successful Programme (MSP)
- Understanding of Investment Logic Mapping
