The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Manager - General to join our Networks team in Eagle Farm QLD, Thomastown VIC or Kidman Park SA, full time for 2 years.

Reporting to the Manager PMO, Networks, you will lead a cross functional team and be responsible for managing and overseeing projects that address changes and developments that can have a significant impact on a particular business unit or APA as a company.

This means ensuring that the internal and external resources are allocated to the project, the timeframe to deliver and the assigned budget are commensurate with the scope of work. You are accountable for managing the key risks and issues of the project to ensure its successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage accurate project cost estimates and schedules and ensure budgets and timelines with relevant controls are in place to ensure successful outcomes for the projects.
  • Designing and developing strategies and processes, in consultation with team members/stakeholders/business consultants, which will support the implementation of the project.
  • Accountable for project delivery in accordance with APA policies and procedures, legislative requirements and relevant quality frameworks
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, project team, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of project outcomes
  • Determining project resourcing requirements, recruiting staff, and managing the development and implementation of the project on a day-to-day basis

Your background

  • Diploma/certification in project management from recognised institute, PMI, AIPM, Prince2
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Strong record of delivering results, using operational efficiency and commercial acumen to effectively implement the business strategy
  • Excellent leader who has skills to foster relationships with staff and other business stakeholders
  • Strategic thinker able to structure & prioritise a program of works including resourcing to optimise production & spend

Experience

  • Strong experience in project management
  • Construction and Engineering experience across a range or small and large capital projects from initiation to closure
  • Contractor management experience

Networks manages and operates transmission pipelines and local distribution networks that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.

This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects, including 2032 Olympics. Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
