The Role
Effectively and efficiently lead delivery teams to execute strategically aligned projects/outcomes by employing key traditional and agile delivery disciplines. Successfully manage dependencies, risks and unblock barriers to ensure the teams deliver business value.
Ensuring timely project delivery is at the heart of this role, the Project Manager will be the frontline driving force to ensure that the business and technology teams are aligned to the project delivery framework/methodology to ensure a unified delivery approach.
Initiate, develop and maintain strong and effective internal and external networks/relationships that are relevant to ensure successful project outcomes.
Accountabilities
What experience you’ll bring:
- Delivery of a variety of business applications (COTS/SaaS), Infrastructure, Cloud and Cyber security projects
- Strong leadership skills in order to build relationships, make quick decisions and problem solve
- Manage a variety of stakeholders at all hierarchical levels
- Manage stakeholder expectations through clear, concise and effective communication
- Manage technical change, people change management and communications
- Design and facilitate Planning Phase workshops utilising a variety of facilitation techniques from design thinking, lean and agile practises
- Liaise with delivery teams to ensure project conflicts, challenges and dynamic business requirements are managed effectively to support team performance and tracking to project milestones
- Manage team capacity vs demand with Product Owners and Managers
- Ensure the team(s) remains focused on priorities and aligned to organisational strategy and roadmaps, and that backlog and release plans are maintained
- Guides team in estimation practices and planning techniques
- Build strong, trusted relationships with business and customer groups and within the team, by helping the team to make their work transparent, and managing change as issues arise
- Protect the team from uncontrolled injection of work (changes are evaluated/intentional)
- Lead a continuous improvement culture, and reduction of waste
- Develop, monitor and communicate team reporting and metrics
- Proactively focus on value and identify and eliminate impediments to maximise team effectiveness
- Work with the individuals and team leaders to resolve people challenges
- Facilitate root cause analysis on significant issues to help teams continuously improve their practices to ensure maximum productivity
- Oversee project backlog management to track and report progress
- Presents high level project readouts for senior management
- Coordinate production releases as required
- Manage other special projects/duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
Qualifications, Education & Training Requirements
- A degree relating to the Information Technology field from a recognised tertiary institution or other qualifications.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience
- Agile Scrum/Kanban & Atlassian Jira Experience highly desirable
- Strong understanding of Infrastructure, Cloud, Cyber Security and Integration technologies
