Red 5 Limited are currently seeking a suitably qualified Project Mine Geologist - Open Pit to join their Geology team based at King of the Hills Gold Mine in the Eastern Goldfields. King of the Hills Open Pit will produce 3.5 million tonnes of ore per year with a 16 year of life of mine, combined with KOTH underground, Darlot underground and satellite pits ounce production will be in the range of 200,000oz per annum.
Reporting to the Senior Geologist: Open Pit, you will be responsible for implementing through planning and management all aspects of mine geology including grade control and production management.
This role is offered on an 14 days on 14 days off roster and is Fly in Fly out from Perth.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide geological insight and liaison during production and planning stages, reviewing and observation of collected data from the field and grade control for Open Pit.
- Ensure the accurate collection of production and reconciliation data, undertake regular data audits, and promote cross-discipline understanding of optimal mine to mill geological practices.
- Effective communication with relevant stakeholders at all stages to optimise efficiencies with Engineering, Mine Geology and Mine survey with regards to grade control modelling, planning evaluation, and production scheduling
- Demonstrate full compliance with the OHS standards and CORRE values by participating in initiatives, toolbox meetings, investigations, training, assisting with the implementation of and contributing to audits within the mine.
- Collect and analyse grade control data (flitch mapping and sampling) in preparation for block modelling.
- Contribute to the delineation, extension and discovery of mineralisation for the extension of Ore Reserves
- Assist with Open pit RC drill rig management.
- Assist with ore designs and mark ups as required.
Key factors to your success include:
- Geology tertiary qualification.
- WA Manual C Class (Manual) Driver's License.
- Previous gold experience as an Open Pit Geologist desirable.
- Previous experience with 3D modelling and database packages such as Vulcan, Acquire and Microsoft Office software.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and a "team-oriented" approach.
- Demonstrated high regard for safe-working rules and procedures, with evidence of non-risk-taking behaviour and encouragement of similar behaviour in others.
