We are looking for:

Byron Shire Council is currently seeking a Project Officer. This role is a great opportunity to deliver a high level of project delivery services in the planning, design and construction of Council infrastructure..

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications variously in Building Certification, Project Management, Building Construction, Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience in the management of local government project delivery or the equivalent in another sector of significant projects greater than one million dollars.
  • Demonstrated high level procurement and contract management skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work with the community, committees, government agencies and contractors with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflict.

We offer:

  • A full-time, fixed term contract to March 2026 (35 hours per week)
  • Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment at a salary Grade 11 in the range of $1,878.98 to $2,177.08 per 35 hour week (dependent upon skills and experience)

Location: This position is based at Mullumbimby, however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
