The Project Officer role will assist with the running and logistics of ClimateREEFS , helping to deliver an exciting programme of research into ecological and social adaptation to climate change. The project is networked across multiple institutions in the UK, USA, Australia, Philippines and Indonesia, and aims to deliver research and impact, funded by IDRC’s and FCDO’s CLARE programme . You will support the delivery of ClimateREEFS and other projects/programmes of work, managing their implementation at the various stages of the lifecycle. Juggling priorities, managing both stakeholder expectations and risks, you will provide accurate and articulate reports on projects/programmes progress, coordinate Asian research permits and logistics, and help with purchasing – the role is varied, but will work closely with collaborators and their project assistants. You will also support the delivery of other research of the Marine Transitions lab, including MPAShift , a project researching reef tropicalisation and helping local managers to co-ordinate their efforts.
Reporting to PI Professor Maria Beger , you will also assist with interactions with the funding agencies (IDRC, Lenfest) and multiple stakeholders and partners in the Global South, which will include coordinating our reporting on progress and outcomes. You will manage the operations of the project and co-ordinate activities and events, including organising our international ECR network, assisting with social media, contributing to the co-ordination with project partner research delivery and collaborations, and administering field logistics and documentation.
