The Division
The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centered integrated transport services and infrastructure. The Network and Assets function delivers a range of infrastructure projects and maintenance programs that ensure safe, efficient, customer focused project and program delivery.
About the team
The team undertakes a diverse range of bridge maintenance, bridge major rehabilitation, new construction, and slope stabilisation works in urban and remote sites across a region which stretches along the east coast from the North of Taree through to Tweed Heads and also inland covering the Tamworth and New England areas. Your project portfolio would include working on a variety of different structures including heritage-listed timber bridges, steel bridges, concrete bridges as well as a range of culverts, slope stabilisation works and associated earthworks.
Recent achievements of the team include a range of larger projects including the demolition and rebuilding of a heritage timber truss structure; concrete pre-casting and site construction of box culverts; blasting and painting of steel lattice truss bridges; soil nailing and piling works to stabilise slopes; bridge demolition and widening of concrete bridges; and underwater concrete pile jacketing and strengthening of bridge elements. The team has also developed and managed maintenance programs such as bridge barrier upgrades; deck joint replacements; vegetation control for bushfire resilience; bridge bearing maintenance/replacement; scour repairs; and graffiti removal. On top of the above the team is also heavily involved in natural disaster recovery works.
The Opportunity
We have a fixed term opportunity for a Project Contract Manager to join the Northern Bridges team, based in Grafton.
The Project Contract Manager is responsible for the development, management and implementation of transport infrastructure and maintenance projects to achieve Transport for NSW and Government road safety, asset management and network efficiency objectives. This role is primarily focussed on the delivery of bridge and culvert construction and maintenance.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
Provide efficient and effective project and contract management services
Lead the investigation, design, estimating and procurement processes
Manage the process of development, tendering, awarding and administration of professional service, construction, and maintenance contracts
Lead multidisciplinary project teams to drive and deliver project objectives and targets
Build and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with all out stakeholders

About you
To be considered for this role you will:
Have broad experience in project development and implementation of bridge and road/traffic infrastructure construction or maintenance projects.
Have proven expertise in the delivery and management of bridge-related projects and the implementation of community/stakeholder involvement strategies.
Be a strong communicator and influential team player, building key relationships with a wide range of clients and internal and external stakeholders.
Work collaboratively with your team to inspire direction, develop the skills and competencies across the business and overcome challenges.
Have a four-year civil engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualifications or a related discipline and demonstrate relevant experience.
Possess a current and valid Australian motor vehicle driver license and be willing to work outside regular working hours and travel on occasion.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Engineering level 3 ($133,928- $146,362) per annum plus superannuation.
