CEHL is Australia's largest cooperative housing provider. We manage a portfolio of more than 2,000 housing properties throughout Victoria and partner with over 90 co-ops to provide safe, secure, affordable housing to 5,000 co-op members, renters, and the broader community.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Property Officer will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and delivery of renewals and maintenance in accordance with the Asset Management Strategy. This role will meet the requirements of the CEHL/Co-operatives Agreement (CCA) as well as compliance, quality control, and budget requirements to deliver efficient and effective renewal projects.
Key accountabilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Inspecting properties for structural integrity and accurately record condition data in the appropriate information technology system;
• Proactively communicate with the housing co-operatives’ Maintenance Directors and the Treasurers to support co-operatives to develop and implement a maintenance budget and plan;
• Identify, scope, obtain quotes, and contract renewal works within the allocated budget;
• Ensure contractors have the appropriate insurances and health and safety induction documentation;
• Provide advice to co-operatives on the development and implementation of the maintenance program, including budget allocation, costings, priorities, and quality standards;
• Visually inspect all works throughout the delivery, monitor progress, keep accurate records, and manage delivery timelines;
• Assist in the preparation of a renewals program budget by nominating the priorities of works for the assigned portfolio.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The role will ideally suit an experienced Property Officer with a positive can-do attitude. The successful candidate will be able to problem solve, have a proactive work ethic coupled with the following qualifications, experience and attributes:

• Experience in residential properties
• Has good customer service skills
• Is self-organised and has good administration skills
• Can quickly learn new information technology systems
• Has experience in the building industry or in planning and managing maintenance
• Works well within the prescribed framework but is able to think creatively to resolve problems
