About the role

This position will form part of the treatment team at the Brimbank Local Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Service. The role will comprise some outreach in addition to individual and group services at the Brimbank site. The role will involve providing psychological assessment and participating in coordinated care.

Your duties include:

  • Provide intake and walk-in sessions
  • Participate in case review and contribute to team decisions about treatment plans and pathways as required
  • Complete referrals to external service providers where appropriate
  • Perform all other duties as directed, within the limits of skills, competence, and training to maximise flexibility and effectiveness.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Psychology Board of Australia).
  • At least two years of professional experience in a clinical &/or community setting as a psychologist.
  • Proof of qualification to be sighted
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in using a range of evidenced based therapeutic interventions including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, ACT.

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Statutory Declaration, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses). Additionally, some roles will also require current AHPRA registration and/or NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Roles that are determined to be Risk Category A or B [staff that have direct and/or indirect contact with body substances and are at higher risk of occupational exposure to infections] will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza prior to commencement [A] or within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
