The Opportunity
The Public Contracting Manager will collaborate with hospital executives, state and local public health departments, and leaders in the health industry. Their role involves identifying, cultivating, and executing publicly funded opportunities, contributing to the realisation of Ramsay Health Care Australia's strategic and operational plans as an integrated health services company.
Key Accountabilities
- Uphold the negotiation tolerance, priorities, principles, and strategic objectives of the Public Contracting function.
- Coordinate stakeholder consultations for contract implementation, providing necessary process, technical, and documentation support to Payor Relations and operational teams.
- Monitor contractual rights/obligations and contract operations, developing plans to optimise opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Formulate and implement plans to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities.
- Demonstrate leadership, stakeholder management, and industry representation.
- Oversee the public contract library, ensuring comprehensive contract management.
- Assist the National Manager and Executives in interpreting data and capitalising on commercial opportunities.
- Explore innovative funding models to mitigate risk and leverage new market opportunities.
About You
To thrive in this position, you must adeptly navigate the public contract lifecycle and excel in payor relations modelling and data analytics. Your ability to support Executives in optimising revenue, billing, profitability, fostering innovation, and enhancing patient outcomes will be crucial to your success in this role.
Your Skills and Experience
- Comprehensive awareness of the macro environment within the health industry, encompassing challenges and opportunities for hospital operators.
- Possession of tertiary qualifications in business, finance, or a related discipline, and/or hands-on experience in managing health-related revenue generation.
- In-depth understanding of revenue operations within a large, complex organisation, including insight into challenges, issues, risks, and cost drivers affecting financial position.
- Proven track record in leading and managing team performance.
- Proficiency in systematically analysing complex problems, deriving relevant conclusions, implementing appropriate solutions, and prioritising tasks.
- Capability to conduct commercial modelling for pricing purposes.
- Prior experience in negotiating/managing healthcare contracts.
- Expertise in developing innovative funding models and a working knowledge of health case mix protocol data and private healthcare reporting requirements.
