Join our vibrant team as a Purchasing / Inventory Controller at our national headquarters located in Sydney. We are seeking a dedicated individual who excels in developing and implementing procurement strategies, and Inventory management to support our ongoing growth and targets. You will be responsible for managing the procurement process, inventory management and building relationships with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the business is supported with accurate inventory levels
- Maintaining accuracy levels throughout the purchasing, import and stock transfer stages using critical analysis, review and accurate data processing
- Review stock allocations and sales patterns to maintain consistent supplies
- Examine any stock queries, escalating any concerns
- Facilitate good communication between Customer Service, Inventory, Purchasing and Warehouse teams
- Liaise with order processing team and delivery team to ensure seamless deliveries
- Liaise with freight forwarders to ensure timely delivery of stock
- Take responsibility for warehouse inventory integrity
- Work with company department managers to determine purchasing needs and requirements for production and office products
- Identify the most appropriate supplier for the designated product, determine availability, perform comparative pricing and negotiate pricing, confirm quality of products and establish delivery requirements/timelines
- Perform all purchasing functions, such as issuing purchase orders (POs), invoice creation, pricing verification, payment authorization, complete entries into accounting system
- Input and maintain online database of all products; maintains daily inventory update
- Identify and resolve any and all issues related to product quality, pricing, delivery, utilization, loss
- Perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts and month end reconciliation process; research any variances and authorize appropriate inventory adjustments
- Conduct records audit of inventory, adjustments and other metrics and prepare monthly/ quarterly/ annual reports of findings to management
- Manage purchase orders for inventory required and in alignment with seasonal orders, and orders are placed on time and stock levels are effectively managed
- Conduct detailed analysis to support purchasing, inventory, and new product initiatives
- Investigate and correct any stock discrepancies
- Analyse and provide forecasts and reports for fast selling and slow-moving products
- Maintain accuracy of inventory and supplier information in system
- Ensure any returns are tracked, replaced, or resupplied in a timely manner, whilst dealing with suppliers on these issues
- Management of annual stock takes
- Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items and expected date of delivery
- Work with Accounts Payable to support and resolve billing and invoice discrepancies with suppliers
Requirements:
- 3+ Years of experience working in a similar role
- Experience in Purchasing and Inventory control management
- Experience and proficient in database management, analyzing and reporting data regarding inventory issues, results, trends, solutions
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and ability to exercise independent judgment
- Must be detail-oriented
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, inventory management and supplier management
- Excellent communication skills, both in oral and written medium
- Bilingual skills helpful (English-Mandarin)
