ABOUT THE ROLE
· Full-time position
· Regular hours - 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday
We are looking for a top performing, energetic Purchasing Officer to support the Purchasing Department in a portfolio of products sourced from suppliers.
The role requires strong attention to detail, plus a thorough and methodical approach to ensure systems are followed and all documentation is completed accurately.
In addition to the above, your key responsibilities and duties as Purchasing Officer will include:
- Ordering and checking of stock, assist in stocktake
- Inventory maintenance
- Negotiate pricing
- Processing/keying supplier invoices/shipments, verifying freight and supplier costs
- Following up outstanding orders
- Stock distribution and transfers
- Arrange shipping and documentation
- Raise and manage purchase orders with local and overseas suppliers
- Assisting sales staff with enquiries
- Daily e-mail correspondence
Qualifications/Experience
- High level of accuracy with the ability to retain information
- Experience in data analysis
- Impeccable time management and understanding work priorities
- Excellent communication/written skills
- Experience with spare parts
- Sound understanding of procurement practices and experience working in a similar role
- Excellent keyboard skills, proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Experience using Pronto software an advantage
