Our client is an Australian leading manufacturer of custom made doors and windows. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join their supportive and dedicated team.
This is a diverse and pivotal role in maintaining and streamlining the company’s purchasing and procurement process. The role requires a talented multi-skilled person possessing a strong purchasing management aptitude, as well as a strong administrative skillset. The successful candidate will be integral in selecting and evaluating all current and potential suppliers, possessing the ability to multi-task, work well with internal and external stakeholders. This is an interesting and challenging opportunity within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Identify suppliers that offer the best product, service and quality
- Create, organise, and send all purchase orders.
- Manage all suppliers (payments, orders, etc.) & build strong relationships
- Liaise with the factory regarding material requisitions and deliveries
- Obtain a thorough understanding of stock and anticipate future orders.
- Update all purchase orders for receipts (delivery dockets, material receipts, delivery changes and back orders)
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and update monthly budgets.
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in a purchasing capacity, ideally in a manufacturing / building industry
- Good understanding of the manufacturing / building industry or any similar industry
- A real desire to learn and grow within the role
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel) and other web-based technologies
- Ability to work unsupervised.
