We are currently seeking a detail-orientated, proactive, and organised Purchasing Officer to join Finance team on a fixed term basis (parental leave cover) until the end of October 2024. This role is a part time position (0.6 FTE), perfect for those who may be seeking school friendly hours or are looking to advance their career whilst studying.
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for supporting the organisation through the provision of purchasing, administrative and operational support for the successful delivery of Scitech’s events and programs across WA.
In this role you will:
- Purchase supplies for all Events, Statewide, Science Centre and Learning futures programs in consultation with managers and program coordinators;
- Ensure all appropriate purchasing administration is completed in a timely fashion;
- Processing and accurate record keeping of purchases on corporate credit card;
- Maintain and update procurement records; and
- Provide information and advice to staff, supporting governance and best practice.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking an individual with personal integrity, adaptability, and a can-do attitude to be an essential part of our Procurement Team. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to prioritise information and tasks to manage your time and meet deadlines.
Other skills and experience required includes:
- Demonstrated experience in procurement and purchasing;
- Demonstrated experience undertaking administrative and data entry tasks with high level accuracy and detail; and
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
