We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to join our team onsite at one of our long term projects in the Gascoyne region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services essential for our business operations. The Procurement Officer will work closely with our workshop department to understand their procurement needs, identify suitable suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of quality products and services. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate will be a Mid-West, lower Gascoyne resident working a 5/2 roster.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives
- Identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts and pricing
- Manage the procurement process from start to finish, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that purchasing needs are met and that goods and services are delivered on time
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure that stock levels are maintained
- Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvements
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in purchasing
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar role
- Experience with CAT and Komatsu equipment and OEM operating systems
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing software
