THE ROLE
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for supporting the business through the delivery of commercially astute and efficient sourcing and procurement of materials, goods, and services, including executing procurement and Procurement to Pay (P2P) activity within the Procurement sourcing processes.
Working with the team in the Contracts and Procurement Department in Perth, your role will be responsible to carry out the following:
- Manage assigned transactional procurement and sourcing events
- Assist in the development and implement operational sourcing requirements that are endorsed by the business and approved at the appropriate level
- End to end management of sourcing events from Requisition to Receipt
- Assist in full quote or tender management where required, commercial and contractual aspects, overall deliver against business objectives within required period and budget is achieved
- Support in negotiations and undertake negotiations where appropriate
- Support the reporting including procurement balanced score card and benefits realisation (savings – hard cash or mitigated)
- Develop and maintain a sound understanding of supplier economics and supply market options and opportunities
- Ensure effective compliance with all procedures and governance frameworks
- Ensure that all strategic procurement outputs have a defined and approved channel to market from a P2P perspective
- Provide & manage system documentation approvals, procurement schedule
- Ensure all procurement process outcomes are documented
- Pronto and ERP system transactional activity for efficient PR’s, PO’s and expediting
ABOUT YOU
We are seeking a candidate with demonstrated experience across all aspects of procurement, who has minimum 3 years within a similar role in the resources, agriculture or freight industry, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a procurement specific position.
You will hold a Bachelor’s degree in finance or supply chain management is preferred, although business management, engineering or similar field will be considered. With your high levels of attention of detail, you will possess:
- Previous experience in technical sourcing
- Procurement and Expediting
- Excellent understanding of the full P2P process
- Good understanding of invoice processing
- Advanced computer literacy and business software knowledge of procurement systems and software
- Understanding of ERP functionality
- Experience using Pronto on an SME level
- Working knowledge using Aconex
- In-depth understanding of the Procurement framework in Australia and working experience sourcing overseas
- Sound comprehension of Contracts methodologies
- Solid grasp of Change Management processes
- Knowledge of safety and environment management systems
- Effective vendor relationship and management experience
- Experience in purchasing direct and indirect items
- Well-developed negotiation and problem-solving skills
