We now have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Officer, reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, to join the Supply Chain Team. This role will be responsible for ensuring that the organisations’ purchasing processes and policies are carried out effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with key internal stakeholders to align and plan purchasing activities.
- Ensure continuity of supply through purchasing activities.
- Support purchasing categories such as ingredients, packaging and overhead supplies (consumables and service items).
- Raise and manage purchase orders to meet production plans, maintain inventory levels and incorporate warehouse space constraints.
- Liaise and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective supply of materials and/or issue resolution.
- Ensure vendor information and inventory purchasing parameters in the ERP system are accurate and maintained.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams for key business and supply chain initiatives.
- Support NPI initiatives and ensure timely delivery of project timelines.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams regarding deliveries inwards ensuring accuracy of paperwork.
- Assist with reporting, such as monthly supplier forecasts and inventory evaluation and assist with supplier DIFOT tracking.
Qualification & Key Skills:
- Prior experience related to purchasing or stock control with a manufacturing organisation is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- An understanding of supply chain, purchasing, and inventory management.
- An understanding of ERP / MRP systems parameters and how to configure settings to drive meaningful MRP information.
- Experience managing multiple priorities, meeting timelines, and adapting to change.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability and confidence to influence and negotiate.
