Solutions by DXN’s Data centre manufacturing division are ideal for rapid deployments in both urban and remote locations.
DXN is now seeking an experienced and highly motivated Purchasing Officer to join the team based in Welshpool, WA. to help drive results and develop supplier relationships. A critical aspect of the role is to ensure that all purchasing is compliant with the relative standards, quality assurance policies and all other company policies and guidelines.
The ideal candidate should have experience in vendor development and sourcing and should be able to manage the entire procurement process from identifying potential vendors to negotiating contracts.
Business sponsor visa is not available for this position and the candidate MUST be resident in Australia and have full Australian working rights.
Responsibilities to include, however not limited to:
- Identifying potential vendors for raw materials, components, and equipment based on quality, cost, and delivery time
- Negotiating and finalising contracts with vendors and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
- Ensure accurate entry of purchase orders and receipting of all incoming material and parts
- Monitoring vendor performance and taking corrective action when necessary
- Maintaining and updating records of all procurement activities and documentation
- Manage periodic stock takes including preparation and variance investigation
- Assisting with managing logistics of air freight and sea shipments
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the company's production schedules and related forward planning and expedite authorised purchases in accordance with policy and lead time requirements
- Working closely with the product engineering, project and production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies to ensure cost savings and increased efficiency
- Monitor stock levels and the use of materials purchased for specific projects to ensure any surplus to requirements are recorded and stored effectively for future use
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends and changes in the market to identify new vendors and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with company's Health, Safety & Environmental policies and legislative requirements
- Any other duties which are required from time to time as directed
Requirements:
- All applicants should reside in Perth and have full Australian working rights
- Knowledge and demonstrable experience in vendor development, vendor management, and contract negotiations
- 3+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing in the telecom or electro mechanical manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated exposure to and an understanding of warehouse/inventory operations
- B.Tech/Diploma
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Positive references in the role are essential.
