In this role, you'll
Join the team as a Purchasing Officer, ensuring delivery of procurement functions and supporting with the delivery of Major works projects to deliver our Annual Works Programme by providing purchasing support.
You would assist with building SAP reports, which includes running weekly VMC reporting and generating insights, on trends, risks and priorities for the team.
You will collaborate with the senior level customers across Major works in identifying problems and then work on finding effective and efficient solutions.
Champion the Data and Business Analytics by reviewing trends for improving team performance, functional improvement areas with a focus on continuous improvement, including testing, validating, and adapting internal work instructions to improve and embed better work practices across functional teams to align with work demands, drive efficiencies, documenting issues, and concerns to raise and champion with our service providers.
You’ll be involved in supporting the Master Service Agreement Ordering Process.
You would be collaborating with the contract managers and providing reporting support to track requisitions and variations to meet the project requirements that are evolving.
You will collaborate and follow through with suppliers to assure standards are met and support the delivery of our Annual Works Program.
You would be required to promptly action, process, coordinate, prioritise and manage purchasing requests, raising of requisitions (inventory and non-stock); ordering and replenishing materials, services and equipment; collaboratively follow through with suppliers to assure standards are met and support the operational requirement effectively and efficiently.
You would ensure optimum outcomes and best utilisation of existing resources.
You would be responsible for Identifying, mitigating and escalating procurement risks to enable the division to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunities.
The overall objective of these new roles is to increase process efficiency and effectiveness of the team while complying with Sydney Trains policies, systems and procedures.

About you
You are a tenacious, resilient, highly organised, self-motivated and an autonomous operator looking to expand your skills and experience in a purchasing/procurement role.
You are someone who thinks out of the box and are ready to push boundaries with an eye on the big picture.
You are able to think on a strategic level while detaching yourself from the operational aspect wherever possible and required for increased efficiency and effectiveness.
You must be able to juggle multiple tasks, providing accurate and prompt support whilst seeking process improvement opportunities.
Ideally you will possess a background in purchasing or admin support within a logistics, construction, or engineering industry.
Capability to use ERP systems (such as SAP, Equip and Ariba) and MSOffice for data collection, configuration, interpretation and reporting will set you up for success.
You thrive on data and are able to draw insights from it to facilitate well informed decision making
