Purchasing Officer (Parental Leave Cover)

A great opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Purchasing Officer who wants to further develop their skills, knowledge, and experience. Note: This is a 10-month parental leave cover contract position.
This role will be provided with training and mentorship by a specialised team who designs and builds internationally certified products locally in our certified that solve hazardous area electrical problems in the Agriculture, Hydrogen, Industrial, Oil & Gas, and Manufacturing Industries.

Our Purpose: Help keep Australia safe by providing hazardous area electrical solutions to ensure safety and compliance in explosive atmospheres.
Key Responsibilities of the Role Include:
- Raise and place purchase orders on our suppliers to meet our committed delivery time to customers.
- Purchasing equipment required for sales orders, work orders & stock.
- Review and management of each item on the backorder report for pricing, required quantity, and reorder points required lead time.
- Review our KANBAN items to ensure the workshop has required stock levels.
- Disciplined management of outstanding purchase orders using our CRM.
- Build long-term relationships with our key suppliers.
- Working closely with our Supply Chain Officer to ensure items are shipped in the required timeframes.
- Ability to provide accurate, comprehensive information for stock work order builds.
- Working with the sales team to support the creation of accurate quotes, purchase, sales, and work orders.
- Support the Team with accurate and timely information and be accountable to the team.
- Create reports via our CRM and provide analysis to the team.
- Attend and positively contribute to team meetings.
To Be Successful in This Role:
- Tertiary qualification.
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- Team player.
