Your new role:
You will ensure the effective management of Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) operational purchasing activities to support production operations and greater business purchases. This will include the purchasing of inventory and non-inventory items as well as services.
You will be required to manage all purchasing responsibilities effectively, manage a supplier base to deliver specified product, quantity, quality, and cost requirements on time to support business requirements
This role will initially be based in the Melbourne CBD office, with hybrid working options before transitioning to our Avalon site in September 2024.
Your primary areas of responsibilities:
- Coordination and Management of HDA’s purchase order activities in ERP
- Tracking and expedition of orders
- Managing Purchase Requests within ERP
- Contributor of purchasing Master Data within ERP
- Appropriate purchase records maintenance and reporting
- Build supplier relationships and monitoring/reporting of KPI’s
- Supplier/Business Partner Management
- Provide administrative support to all other areas of HDA including Finance, Logistics, Procurement etc...
- Provide support of various activities as needed within Projects and Procurement
- Work with other teams to develop value stream maps that will support future personnel and systems growth
About you
As an ideal candidate you will have:
- Experience in a Manufacturing Purchasing context, with knowledge of the supply chain process.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with exceptional negotiation skills.
- Very good knowledge and experience of standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite Outlook/Email, Word Excel), SAP Experience highly regarded.
- Understanding of MRP/ERP Process and how it is applicable to purchasing context.
- Ability to make purchasing decisions by analysing purchase requirements against stock levels, stock turns, stock patterns and value of the commodity.
- Technical minded, ability to read engineering, mechanical drawings, and specs highly desirable
- Tertiary qualification in Purchasing, Logistics, Material Management, or similar context highly desirable, but not essential
