As we continue to grow and expand in Australia, we are seeking a Purchasing Officer to join the busy team in our Dandenong South Head Office.
Working in a close knit and fun team, the successful candidate will be trained on all things purchasing from the ground up.
The duties of this role will initially include but will not be limited to:
- Providing administrational support to the purchasing team
- Making follow up calls and sending emails to suppliers
- Updating our internal systems
- Material planning processing
- Supplier negotiations
- Overseas purchasing
- Stock level analysis
After you have settled in, you will then be continuously trained in new areas and gradually build up your purchasing skill set.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Prior purchasing experiences - 3 years plus
- Importing experience
- Solid knowledge of local Australian supplier would be advantageous
- Be outgoing, have strong communication skills and the ability to speak confidently on the phone and via email
- A strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
- Reasonable IT skills with prior experience with, or an understanding of Microsoft Excel
- SAP knowledge would be an advantage. In particular to running daily MRP functions.
