About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Chef who will be responsible for:
- Designing and preparing a diverse range of healthy menu options from scratch, ensuring they meet the nutritional balance of proteins, lower GI carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats to support an active lifestyle.
- Conducting quality checks upon the arrival of proteins and vegetables to ensure freshness and adherence to Food4Fitness's standards for premium ingredients.
- Implementing FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory management practices to ensure ingredients are used efficiently and waste is minimised.
- Organising cool room and dry storage areas to maintain order and facilitate smooth operations within the kitchen environment.
- Maintaining comprehensive food production records, including technical sheets for all dishes prepared, to ensure consistency in quality and portion control.
- Monitoring and controlling food temperatures throughout storage, preparation, and cooking processes to adhere to health and safety standards.
- Developing new recipes and dishes that align with the healthy, nutritious philosophy of Food4Fitness, ensuring variety and innovation in meal offerings.
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies, focusing on the optimisation of resources and cost-effectiveness while maintaining the high quality expected by customers.
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising kitchen staff on cooking procedures to ensure a uniform standard of excellence across all dishes.
- Enforcing hygiene regulations and conducting regular kitchen cleanliness checks to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment.
- Selecting and potentially training staff to ensure the kitchen operates with individuals who share the commitment to quality, health, and safety standards set by Food4Fitness.
- Preparing and cooking food, ensuring that all dishes served meet the high standards of taste, nutrition, and presentation expected by Food4Fitness customers.
- Coordinating with clients to design custom catering menus for events: Working directly with clients to tailor catering menus that meet their event's specific fitness and nutritional objectives, accommodating dietary preferences and restrictions to ensure a satisfying and healthy experience for all guests.
- Overseeing the entire process of catering service from food preparation to presentation at events, ensuring seamless operation and adherence to Food4Fitness's quality, health, and safety standards, while providing an exceptional dining experience that aligns with the company's ethos.
About you:
The minimum requirements for the position are:
- Diploma of Hospitality Management or diploma in a relevant area (may be substituted by at least three years of relevant experience)
Remuneration package
- Salary: AUD 81,000.00 per year + superannuation.
