The Opportunity

As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will play a crucial role in upholding food regulatory, safety, customer, and export requirements to ensure the integrity and wholesomeness of our products. You will work closely with our QA Manager and department supervisors to monitor compliance, implement corrective actions, and participate in external audits.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the QAM in the implementation & maintenance of quality management system & the continued compliance to the referenced quality standards
- Perform QA monitoring as directed, monitoring for compliance to HACCP program & requirements \ hygiene.
- Plant & equipment hygiene including pre-operational hygiene.
- Implement, document & verify corrective & preventative actions as appropriate.
- Monitor and analyse quality metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement as per the MHA guidelines
- AUS-meat specification inspection in accordance to AUS-meat guidelines
- Temperatures – Sterilisers, chillers & Carcasses
- Tare checks for weights and measures compliance
- Witness & monitor calibration for CL result and witness test weights
- Identify areas for improvement in processes and procedures
- Participate in external audits when required
- Assist supervisors with Customer Complaint Investigations
Preferable but not essential
- Experience in the meat or food processing industry
- Certificate 3 in Meat processing or equivalent.
- Formalised internal audit qualifications or accreditations
- Knowledge & understanding of the Meat Hygiene Assessment
- Knowledge of AUS-MEAT specification standards
