Our client runs a number of flocks of disease-free (Specific Pathogen Free) layer breeders which produces high value fertile eggs under quarantine conditions which are used in the production of animal health vaccines. Replacement flocks are incubated and hatched on site.
Role
A new full time, permanent, salaried position has been created for a Quality Compliance Co-Ordinator reporting to the General Manager and Board of Directors. The position will be responsible for the embedding, monitoring and maintenance of the quality system, the training of staff and meeting compliance and quarantine requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure hygiene and biosecurity practices are followed
- Train staff in all procedures relating to meeting product quality and quarantine standards
- Ensure all procedures relating to egg quality are followed by shed staff
- Review and update SOP’s, work instructions and documentation
- Ensure raw material inputs meet quality standards and that associated documentation is completed
- Minimum certificate level qualifications in quality assurance, animal husbandry or similar
- At least three years’ experience in a quality assurance environment
- Experience in poultry husbandry or quarantine practices will be highly regarded but is not essential
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
Approximately one hour northwest of the Melbourne CBD
Remuneration
A competitive salary package will be offered commensurate with experience
