About the role

Reporting to the National Real Estate Manager, the Real Estate Development Manager will be responsible for the execution of the Ampol Real Estate Strategy. You will support the Real Estate vision for Ampol to be Australia’s first choice for convenience and fuels through your identification and development of network market investment opportunities within existing and emerging trade markets. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative and high performing team focusing on development and management of regional NTI (New to Industry) and investment development pipelines.


Key Responsibilities
 

  • Identifying and acquiring NTI site development opportunities in accordance with the Ampol 5 Year Real Estate Plan.
  • Managing all new development opportunities through due diligence and approvals prior to construction commencement. 
  • Identification, negotiation, and delivery of QSR and sub-tenancy investment opportunities within the existing network and Ampol development pipeline. 
  • Identification and management of major reinvestment opportunities within the existing Ampol Real Estate Portfolio.
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders to develop and implement Real Estate strategies and plans for the region.
  • Maintain strict compliance to Ampol Governance procedures.
  • Prepare and present Business Case submissions to Ampol Senior Management, as well as legal documentation pertaining to acquisition and sub tenant lease activities.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships within the following industries and organisations: Property developers, Real Estate agencies and service providers, national QSR operators and retailers, relevant government agencies (local & state) and industry advocacy groups such as the Property Council.

About you

Your tertiary degree in a property related discipline, supports and defines your expertise in the Real Estate development field.

You will be an individual who has a minimum of five years’ experience in Property Development, primarily in commercial/retail, with demonstrated experienced in property acquisition. You will be able to work autonomously, be self-motivated and proactive in your approach, someone who will search for opportunities and drives self-development. Ideally, your experience in either the oil industry, large retail chain and/or fast-food industry will be highly desirable.

This role will require interstate travel, particularly Southern and Western regions of Australia, predominantly Victoria, but inclusive of South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania. 

 
Key skills and experience

  • Extensive property development experience at a white-collar level.
  • Experience in oil, retail and or fast-food industry from a Real Estate/property development and acquisition level.
  • Sound verbal and written communication skills including the ability to provide input into reports.
  • Great at building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationship with colleagues, stakeholders and third parties.
  • A clear and concise communicator.
  • Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and focused on outcomes.
