Role Description
This is a permanent part-time on-site role for a administration Assistant (23-25 hours per week) in a small long standing accounting firm in Maitland NSW.
The position has flexible hours between the hours of 9am and 5pm and can be undertaken either as 3 full time days or 4-5 days during school hours.
To maintain a high professional and ethical approach with strict standards of confidentiality in accordance with accounting and government standards.
This position has the following responsibilities:
Reception
Reception duties include:
- Scheduling of appointments/diary management
- Managing incoming phone calls
- Liaising with clients and regulators via phone and email
- Greeting Clients in a friendly professional manner
- Collect and distribute daily mail and post mail when required
Administration
Administration duties include:
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to accounting staff
- Processing of incoming and outgoing mail
- Processing ATO correspondence
- Managing the scanning and filing of client documentation
- Collation and packaging of income tax returns and financial statements
- Office maintenance including stationery orders, and ensuring the reception area is clean, tidy and well presented at all times.
- General administration and ad hoc duties when required.
To maintain a high professional and ethical approach to confidentiality in accordance with accounting standards.
Essential Criteria:
- A proactive attitude/approach is essential
- Sound computer skills including MS Excel and MS Word software experience with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Pleasant phone manner and customer service
- Organisational skills and a high degree of attention to detail & accuracy
- Whilst previous experience in the accounting field is an advantage, it's not essential. We are more interested in motivated, eager and passionate individuals. We can teach you the skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Certificate in business administration (or currently enrolled)
- Previous experience in a professional office environment.
Salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
