The Role:
The Concierge / Reception / Sleepover role is offered on a permanent part-time basis.
Our Concierge is the go-to person for our residents and is therefore a vital part in the smooth operation of our village. Reporting to the Village Manager, the role is tasked in undertaking a variety of duties and responsibilities including:
- Provide a high level of customer service to our residents with their general enquiries
- Welcoming all other customers to our communities in person or on the phone
- Maintain the reception, lounge and café to have impeccable presentation
- Attend to co-ordinating emergency services in emergency situations
- General office administration work as required and directed by the Manager
- Maintain resident requests for table bookings within our Restaurants, including coordinating numbers and payment for social events and functions
- Assist in providing support to our restaurant in service, and within our café and bar when required
- Work in a team environment with other staff
- Maintain safe work practices
Candidates must be flexible in covering a variety of shifts stated below per fortnight, including a minimum of two evening “Sleepover” shifts per week:
Monday-Friday- Day shifts - Start time 9am; Finish time 5pm
- Evening shifts - Start time 5pm to Finish time 9am (next day) (Note: Sleepover shift (non-contact) commences from 9pm to 7am).
- Morning shifts - Start time 7am; Finish time 12 noon
- Afternoon shifts - Start time 12 noon; Finish time 5pm
- Evening shifts - Start time 5pm to 12 noon (next day); (Note: Sleepover shift (non-contact) commences from 9pm to 7am)
Note: Sleepover shifts require you to sleep overnight within our Village Sleep room to respond to resident emergencies when required.
Your application should demonstrate:
- At least 3 years experience in a similar role or environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (required)
- Current Police Clearance Certificate, valid less than 3 months (required)
- Experience with point-of-sale systems and intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word
- Barista knowledge highly regarded
- Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (required)
As this role requires you to engage with older people, candidates must be reliable, customer focused, have a friendly personality, be patient and have a calm demeanour.
Candidates must also acknowledge that the evening sleepover (non-contact) shifts are non negotiable with this role, including weekends and day work, with the occasional additional shift required to cover absences.
Whilst there are a number pre-requisites for this role, ultimately we are seeking candidates with a background gained in roles aligned to hospitality, hotel concierge, nursing, airline and perhaps the defence forces.
