ABOUT THE ROLEOur asset Recoveries Officer coordinates recovery activities for impaired consumers and commercial equipment debts on behalf of banking and finance clients. There is no direct contact with borrowers.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday role located in Milperra (SYD), NSW.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
- Coordinating and attending to the Recoveries workflows, including accepting matters for action from the Recoveries portal
- Identifying matters for review and action from the Recoveries portal
- Completion of bank compliance checklist prior to allocation
- Selecting geographically suitable mercantile agents and appropriately allocate the spread of recovery action by monitoring the allocation
- Engaging with mercantile agents and managing the effective actioning of files by making informed decisions to ensure positive outcomes are achieved in a timely manner
- Monitoring mercantile agent’s performance to ensure they meet SLAs
- Maintaining reporting as required for Management meetings with agents and finance clients
- Working closely with the Recoveries Team Leader and Manager to identify issues and work within the agreed escalation procedures
- Managing the remarketing of assets recovered by mercantile agents
- Administrative tasks, including invoice oversight, record keeping and actions/outcomes recording
As our successful candidate, you will have:
- Prior experience in either secured debt recovery, mercantile agent management, insolvency and/or distressed debt management
- Understanding of stages of secured debt recovery, including regulated, non-regulated contracts and relevant legislation
- Confidence and ability to maintain positive relationships with upstream and downstream partners
- Organisational skills and strong attention to the detail
- The ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
- A compassionate nature with the ability to empathise with clients and create an outstanding customer experience
