Founded in 1894, Ghella operate in the construction of large public projects and specialise in underground excavation and tunnelling works. Over the course of 120 years, we have built over 130 tunnels and connected more than 1,000 km’s of highways, railways and subways.
Operating in Australia since 2010, we are working on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the country and have established a recognised presence in the local infrastructure market. Our first project in Australia, Legacy Way, was named ‘Best Tunnelling Project in the World’ in 2013 and since then we have continued to take on some of the countries’ most crucial and challenging projects.
We are currently delivering in partnership with leading construction companies, projects that make a difference to the community with some of our current projects including Cross River Rail in Brisbane, Sydney’s M6 Stage 1, Sydney Metro West - Western Sydney Airport and Eastern Tunnelling package.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic recruitment specialist to join our team in the position of Recruitment Coordinator. This role involves coordinating various aspects of the recruitment lifecycle, ensuring a smooth and efficient hiring process.You will play an important role in sourcing, attracting, and retaining talents for our company. You will work closely with hiring managers and project teams to ensure that we have the right talent in place to deliver successful projects on time and within budget.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand staffing needs.
- Source, screen, and assess candidates using a variety of recruitment methods and through various channels.
- Coordinate pre-employment assessments, background checks, and reference checks as needed.
- Conduct candidate interviews to assess qualifications, experience, skills, and fit for specific roles.
- Manage communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing timely communication and feedback.
- Contribute to HR strategies and company initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate information and recruitment activities
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in recruitment to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in recruitment
- Knowledge of recruitment best practices, sourcing techniques, and candidate assessment methods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with candidates and stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities concurrently.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with ATS and relevant recruitment software and tools.
- Relevant qualifications and certifications are a plus, but not required
