Kennedys is looking for a Recruitment Manager to manage the Recruitment function for the growing Australia offices. This is a strategic, yet hands on, role which focuses on both the planning/organisation but also the day-to-day delivery of the firm's recruitment needs.The position will not only work closely with the partners and management in Australia but also with colleagues in UK and APAC HR who will provide support on administrative and operational tasks, as well as the overall global HR strategy.This is a unique opportunity to be part of Kennedys growing, global team.TeamKennedys HR team support the firm with all people related matters. The team in Australia consists of a Senior HR Manager, HR Manager, Recruitment Manager, Recruitment Advisor and a HR Administrator based in Sydney. We have HR presence in five of our global offices as well as a large team based in the UK.The areas of HR that we have responsibility for are Business Partnering, Recruitment, Reward, HR Systems and Analytics, Learning and Development, Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity and Inclusion.You will be working in a fast-paced, demanding, and global environment as we strive to make a difference for our people, clients and communities where we work.Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee end to end recruitment nationally across both legal professional and business services, providing coaching and guidance to the Recruitment Advisor on roles they are responsible for
- Partnering with the business to identify growth opportunities and challenges, discussing strategic growth and gaps in offering
- Manage lateral Partner (team) hires from start to finish, from initial discussions through to Business Plan stage, 1 to 1 meetings and negotiation of salaries/sign on bonuses. Working closely with the UK lateral Partner team in relation to agreeing terms of business (with agencies), collating paperwork ready for global vote and review/assessment of restrictive covenants
- Preparation of and monitoring of annual recruitment budget for each FY, taking into consideration advertising costs, agency spend and lateral growth
- Work with business development peers to identify gaps in the market and talent opportunities, developing an EVP (in conjunction with the Senior HR Manager) to drive attraction strategies
- Oversee Early Careers/Graduate recruitment process/budget, working closely with the Recruitment Advisor on future plans and enhancements to the existing programme
- Drive efficiencies in recruitment processes and proactively seek to make improvements; including consideration of alternate sourcing methods
- Proactively drive independent recruitment and move away from agency reliance
- Lead on key recruitment projects for Australia
- Collaborate with recruitment peers across the global Kennedys network, including participating in global projects
- When required, negotiate terms of business with recruitment agencies to ensure competitive rates/steady flow of resumes and review/approval of invoices.
- Agree terms and partner with select group of recruitment agencies; develop a PSA
- Work alongside the HR team on sponsorship license and visas for lateral joiners
- Management and coaching of the Recruitment Advisor to enhance development and growth opportunities
- Draft advertisements and Business Plans in conjunction with Finance as required
- Follow external market information in relation to competitor firms and candidate movements so Kennedys is well positioned to respond as required
- Build an understanding of key benefits and communicate these clearly with candidates

- Previous recruitment experience at Manager Level, gained within in house professional services or partnership environment.
- Willing to be hands on and undertake administrative duties, yet also being able to guide the partners at an advisory/strategic level.
