- The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is a government body responsible for regulating the building and construction industry in the state of Queensland, Australia.
- Actively seek out, establish, manage and maintain relationships with regional stakeholders including but not limited to: Industry associations, community groups, consumers, suppliers, local and other associated government agencies, emergency services etc. Leverage off industry relationships and advocate the QBCC along with its range products and services, and how these will best serve its customers;
- In partnership with the appropriate internal education and engagement stakeholders, assist in the development, implementation and ongoing support of an annual events strategy that will not only deliver a heightened awareness of the QBCC and its services; but also maintain valuable external relationships through industry change education and professional development programs across the State;
- Manage and oversee the operation of the regional service centre. This will include:
- Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on regional service centre performance objectives (KPI's). Reporting will generally be expressed via formalised reporting structures such as Business Plans, Month End reports and Service Delivery Statement measures (SDS), but may also take the form of ad hoc requirements as and when requested;
- Where necessary provide file briefs and senior level advice in relation to complex and/or sensitive cases, including but not limited to: licence and certifiers applications and renewals, licensee performance audits, compliance investigations, prosecutions, building disputes and home warranty insurance claim.;
- Where appropriate, lead and/or participate in regional disaster response and recovery initiatives;
- Lead by example and personally espouse QBCC's chartered corporate behaviours. Hold all QBCC staff and in particular direct reports to account for maintaining adherence to QBCC's behaviours and codes of conduct. Pursue all breaches were appropriate in accordance to staff conduct policies and procedures.
- Work closely with all regional counterparts and the Director, Regional Services to leverage the scalable regional resource model. This in turn will ensure all operational peaks and troughs can be managed centrally by the strategic reallocation of resources and /or accessing of workloads remotely.
