WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint a Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator.
The Role:
As a Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator will provide sound rehabilitation advice to Managers and coordinate the workplace rehabilitation of employees who sustain work-related injuries or illnesses, to meet compliance with legislative, governance requirements and organisational safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide workplace rehabilitation assistance in a proactive manner for the timely and safe Return to Work of injured employees through initiating early contact with the injured worker and their Supervisor and/or Manager following a workplace injury, inclusive of timely development, monitoring and upgrading of suitable duties plans.
- Coordinate workplace rehabilitation for injured employees in line with Workers' Compensation legislative requirements and Webuild and Parklife Metro’s Workplace Rehabilitation Policies and procedures.
- Liaise with the Insurers Case Manager, Health and Safety Advisors, Supervisor, Manager, Treating Medical Officer, Allied Health Provider, and other relevant Stakeholders regularly regarding the progress of injuries.
- Maintain an accurate, confidential Workplace Rehabilitation file containing all relevant documentation on each worker undergoing rehabilitation in line with Workers' Compensation legislative requirements.
- Provide frontline leaders, health and safety representatives and workers (including our contractors) with coaching and expert health and safety advice to develop wellbeing capability throughout the business.
- Provide expert safety advice that aligns to Safety and Environment Systems and drives continuous improvement.
- Return to Work Coordinator Certificate (essential)
- Tertiary qualification in Health, Safety or Occupational Health (highly desirable)
- Experience within the construction industry (highly desirable)
- Experience working as a Return-to-Work Coordinator or similar for 2+ years.
- Extensive knowledge of workplace rehabilitation legislative requirements, safety legislation and management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various departments and stakeholders.
- High level of skill in conducting risk assessments, incident investigation and assurance activities.
