Taking on the role of Relationship Manager within our Perth International Subsidiary Banking team, your focus will be managing an existing portfolio with responsibility for deepening the relationship with these clients, whilst also actively seeking to build the portfolio via new to bank business.

With HSBC's International Subsidiary Banking, you will be joining a business that provides a gateway to HSBC's global network, providing the opportunity to build strong relationships with our international stakeholders and clients across key corridors of the US, United Kingdom, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging with multiple touchpoints within both our existing and target clients to build and maintain strong relationships, identify client needs, and position the Bank's solutions accordingly.
  • Continuing to grow sustainable revenues from existing customer portfolios and through targeted acquisition of new corporate customers.
  • Identifying opportunities for referrals to other Group Product and Service partners and Global Businesses, aligned with identified needs and customer's and HSBC's risk appetite.
  • Maintaining a core understanding of each customer's business, industry and associated markets, while building market awareness of our International Subsidiary Banking proposition.
  • Developing effective strategies to manage customer relationships, anticipate customer needs and provide superior quality service, to position HSBC as segment market leader.
  • Managing credit evaluation (new submissions, annual reviews) on our client set, including analysis of complex financial information and timely and accurate preparation of high-quality credit applications for general corporate and structured lending scenarios.
  • Contributing and monitoring the application of policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues in other departments and countries, in particular Global Relationship Managers based in Australia's key trading partner countries (US, UK, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East).

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A fundamental understanding of key corporate banking products including bilateral and syndicated loans, project finance, debt capital markets, trade finance, transactional banking and treasury solutions, gained through extensive experience in a corporate / institutional finance setting (including credit fund, ratings agency, major accountancy firm, or investment bank).
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and lasting relationships with internal and external parties.Proven In-depth analytical skills with a strong commercial orientation and focus on credit quality.
  • Strong familiarity with APLMA loan documentation and Australian security structures
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with people at all levels including clients, peers, product specialists, industry specialists and credit risk personnel.
  • High levels of self-motivation, commitment and a desire to succeed.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A natural focus on providing superior customer service with a genuine desire to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • A degree in Finance, Business, Accountancy, Law or related disciplines - related post graduate qualifications such as Master of Finance, CFA, CPA, or similar will be highly regarded.

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
