We are seeking a Reliability Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis working 40 hours per week, with 1 in 4 Saturdays required.
The Reliability Engineer is a key position within the team and reports to the Maintenance Superintendent. The main responsibility is ensuring the reliability of the operating plant at Wespine, with all equipment meeting or exceeding operational expectations through planning of maintenance and identified improvements.
You will be responsible for:
- Development of equipment maintenance strategies and schedules with allocated resources to achieve agreed equipment performance for key machine centres.
- Analysis of equipment failure, identifying opportunities for improvement, driving increased equipment reliability and reduced downtime.
- Leading a team of up to 4, consisting of maintenance planners, Maintenance engineer, Draft person, and graduates.
- Assist in the preparation of the Engineering Maintenance Budget and allocation of that budget.
- Involvement with site continuous improvement programs
- Oversee development of regular maintenance plans by Maintenance Planners
- Supervise contractors including preparing documents to source contract services.
- Identify and source critical spares.
- Carry out technical appraisals on existing plant for upgrades, replacements, and other improvements.
- Develop engineering solutions in conjunction with requirements of the Maintenance Superintendent and other site management.

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or experience in a relevant technical role
- Proven project management skills
- Key machine understanding
- Scheduling and budgeting skills
- Proven understanding of manufacturing techniques including mechanical and electrical equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to use computer-based tools such as MS Office, MS Project and CAD
- Experience within the Timber or similar manufacturing industry (not essential but advantageous)
