An exciting opportunity for a Research and Development Scientist to join a growing and performing business.

Working in all the technical aspects of product development, as an R&D Scientist, you will thrive on identifying and introducing new technologies and ideas, as we’re known for developing our own products and technologies.

In this role, you will help develop new (or modified) consistently high product quality products drive innovations across a range of and products and enhance overall product quality. You will collaborate with our sales, marketing and procurement departments ensuring we deliver overall product quality.

To be successful you will need to have a passion for building partnerships that add value to the wider business. This role works with fun, supportive team and is based out of our office in Clayton.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new paint products and technologies
  • Ensure existing products meet our quality and performance expectations
  • Provide technical advice to customers as well as sales and marketing.
  • Develop formulation science and project management expertise
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver best in class solutions
  • Comply with all Safety and Sustainability and regulatory requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications in an area of Chemistry, Applied Science or equivalent experience
  • Any previous formulation experience will be highly regarded
  • Experience with paint or chemical laboratory testing
  • Complex problem-solving skills; ability to clearly identify root cause and implement solutions
  • Strong communication, influencing and networking skills
  • Drive & passion for innovation!
