In this role, you will provide strategic and operational support to the Centre’s academics to further enhance and diversify the Centre’s research portfolio, performance and reputation.Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Research AdministrationAssist with administrative duties involved in research grant applications and tender opportunities, including development of high-quality and competitive applications.Assist in preparing budgets consistent with the university’s Recovery of Indirect Costs from Research Funding and Consultancies policy.Assist the Queensland Decarbonisation Hub’s CI and Hub Research Manager with overseeing the research program, contracting arrangements, milestones, and deliverables.Relationships and OpportunitiesIdentify key contacts and capitalise on opportunities for competitive research grants and funding schemes as relevant to the Centre’s core research themes.Support researchers to attract research funding (especially categories 1 and 2) by disseminating opportunities and communicating key dates and requirements.Communications and EngagementEffectively communicate the Centre’s research achievements and capabilities internally at UQ and more broadly to external stakeholdersReport the Centre’s research activities on social media.This is a part-time (80%), fixed-term position until 31 December 2026.At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,649 - $105,244, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $113,080 - $123,136 annually. As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases – at least once a year.About YouCompletion of a degree with at least four (4) years subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.Experience in research development and research administration in the area of social science and policy.Ability to prepare policy briefs and other engagement and impact outputs.Demonstrated organisational and project management skills with an ability to work within time and budgetary constraintsDetailed knowledge of higher education policies and procedures in relation to research administration, or the capacity to gain such knowledge.Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, working on multiple projects simultaneously with varying timelinesAbility to organise events, conferences, workshops and policy roundtables.A sound knowledge of the University’s administrative systems, policies and procedures, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.Experience in setting up and working with a research hub environment involving various institutions, researchers, stakeholders and government partners.In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
