This position is responsible for the case management of four young people across the program and works closely with the Residential Care Team and DFFH in the provision of care to the young people.
The Residential Care Case Manager plays an integral role within Residential Services.
Working 22.8 hours per week, this new part-time position will assist clients and their families / caregivers to become self-managing over time with minimal need for ongoing professional involvement. The Case Manager will coordinate the multi-disciplinary teams that are involved in the care of each of the young people.
Expected commencing salary of $73,267.93 per annum (pro rata) plus statutory superannuation. Because MASP is a non-profit organisation, you also have the option to maximise your income through salary packaging.
Essential role-specific skills, knowledge and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, Social Science, or other relevant tertiary studies.
- Knowledge of theory relating to working with adolescents (10-21 years), specifically those who have experienced trauma.
- An understanding of the issues relating to the placement of children in alternative placement contexts and with child protection involvement.
- Experience in the case management of families and individuals and an ability to provide a case management service in complex family circumstances where multiple service providers may be involved and/or there are complex family issues.
- Demonstrated awareness and commitment to working within the ‘Best Interest Principles’ outlined within the Child, Youth and Families Act 2005 and the ability to contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of client service plans/Best Interest case plans.
- Ability to work both individually and as a member of a team, and to contribute to program development, implementation and evaluation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, negotiation and liaison skills and the ability to work with government and non- government organisations, community groups and families.

- Experience in a not for profit / charitable organisation
