On behalf of Donfresco Pty Ltd, a dynamic and innovative company specialising in the purchase and retail distribution of high-quality, fresh food products based in the Cabramatta West NSW 2166 area, we are conducting a search for a meticulous and skilled Retail Buyer.
Current Opening:
This opportunity is a full-time position (38 hours per week).
Position Responsibilities and Tasks
- Conduct thorough market research to identify current trends, consumer preferences and competitors.
- Analyse sales data and industry reports to make informed decisions regarding product selection.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and agreements for the procurement of goods.
- Collaborate with merchandising teams to align product selection with overall business strategies.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent overstock or stockouts.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal cost margins while maintaining product quality.
- Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs and improve profitability.
- Utilise sales data, historical trends and market insights to create accurate sales forecasts.
- Ensure that all purchased products meet legal and safety standards.
- Collaborate with store managers to understand regional preferences and optimise product assortment.
- Develop and manage the buying budget, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans.
- Analyse sales and product performance regularly, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
- AQF Certificate III, AQF Certificate IV or a related field
- A minimum of two years' experience in a similar role.
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret market data, analyse trends and make informed decisions
- Exceptional negotiation skills for securing favourable terms with suppliers while maintaining product quality and profitability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers, internal teams and stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in inventory management, quality control and contractual agreements.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to market changes, industry trends and unforeseen challenges.
Salary:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 - $80,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
