About the Role
Reporting to the General Counsel, Risk the Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for embedding the risk and compliance framework and policies within the firm.
Responsibilities
- Support practice and business services groups to develop a risk-based internal audit program/framework. Record, collect and report on compliance with our various regulatory obligations.
- Assist in the development and operation of suitable and efficient processes for assurance, including a technology platform for compliance reporting.
- Collaborate with practice and business services groups, to respond to reasonable client requests for evidence/assurance of our compliance with our various regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate a rolling calendar and schedule regular risk meetings with practice and business services groups and follow-up on non-compliant and outstanding tasks.
- Assist in developing and formatting risk heat maps.
- Monitor and maintain the risk register system.
- Record incidents in the risk register system and monitor until closure.
- Prepare risk and compliance reports.
- Provide assistance in compiling information on Risk & Compliance for reporting to the Board.
- Assist in maintaining the firm's Business Continuity Plan and collaborate with Technology organise annual business continuity testing.
- Coordinate training sessions involving internal subject matter experts on regulatory risk and compliance areas including modern slavery, anti-money laundering, data security.
- Maintain materials provided by internal subject matter experts on key regulatory compliance areas on SharePoint.
- Undertake and participate in other risk and compliance initiatives as required.
About You
- Successful applicants bring experience in providing administrative support to a risk and compliance, or audit team gained in either private practice or an in-house role.
- Adept at keeping up to date with best practice pertaining to audits and compliance.
- Tertiary qualification (e.g. Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk Management (10131NAT), or a Diploma of Quality Auditing (BSB51615) and/or demonstrated experience in compliance
- A focus on continuous improvement
