Due to growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Rostering Officer to join our exceptional Star Aviation Team. This position offers the opportunity to engage with a respected brand within an exciting industry.
You will be responsible for managing the deployment and optimisation of our workforce and will involve implementing efficient and agile rostering practices throughout our Sydney operations. Additionally, you will ensure that data across all systems is current and accurately maintained to enhance service delivery.
About the role
Reporting to the National Workforce Planner, you will maintain complex weekly rosters in the rostering system and provide end-user training and support as well as making last minute adjustments to support the fill of resource requirements, working as part of a small team to promote workforce efficiency and optimisation across the Sydney operations.
Based on the nature of the work where adjustments need to be made to rosters in the afternoon for the next day, this role is required to be carried out in the afternoon/evening on weekdays with requirement to work a rotating roster inclusive of weekends and public holidays.
About you:
• Develop resourcing plans to determine operational requirements for Sydney Airport Cabin Cleaning Teams in advance and on the day of operations.
• Represent the Airport Manager in client meetings to discuss labour as required
• Conduct both individual and group training sessions for staff on existing or new software
• Facilitate training on airline procedural processes for team members, either individually or in groups.
• Manage, allocate, and supervise flight information using various software tools, data feeds, and communication methods ensuring our services comply with contractual and service level agreements.
• Collaborate with airlines on operational days to report and provide timely response to relevant service information.
• Promptly report and escalate critical issues to the appropriate operational key stakeholders.
• In consultation with Sydney Airport Manager, ensure published rosters are meeting the levels of operational robustness and maintain support training recovery planning stages.
• Provide input into the roster forecasting to ensure that duties comply with regulations and agreements and training requirements are met ensuring Team remain complaint.
• Complete all relevant shift reports to operational key stakeholders as required prior to end of shift.
• Effective resource management related to Day of Operations as well as arranging replacement staff due to unplanned leave.
• Oversee the rostering to ensure optimal operational efficiency through effective planning and management of resources.
Successful candidate attributes and experience:
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure
• 2+ years experience in Rostering/scheduling/workforce planning;
• Demonstrated communication skills incorporating the abilities of courtesy, diplomacy and confidentiality
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise a demanding workload
• Available to work between 7am – 6pm based at our Mascot support office
• Organisational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of rostering system, HR practices and award principles
• Expertise in planning, problem solving, evaluation and co-ordination
• Fast leaner with complex systems
• Proficient at Microsoft Excel other Microsoft applications
