About the Role
The Safety and Wellbeing Specialist works within a team to deliver proactive psychosocial prevention initiatives to strengthen mentally healthy workplaces and improve social, emotional, health and Wellbeing outcomes for NSW employers. You will be responsible to deliver major programs that influence the Safety and Wellbeing strategies for NSW employers and support the delivery of services to reduce psychological injury claims.

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Safety and Wellbeing Specialist – Mental Health you will:
- Engage in meaningful conversations with employers / employer groups to influence their approach to creating a mentally healthy workplace
- Recommend Safety and Wellbeing strategies to address identified psychosocial hazards and to encourage a best practice approach in their management of psychosocial risk.
- Scope and lead projects to deliver Safety and Wellbeing services that will lead to a reduction in psychological injury claims
- Delivery of Safety and Wellbeing services in a team environment in line with agreed scope
- Analyse workers’ compensation and other data to identify areas of concern and opportunities for improvement
- Engage and foster key external relationships to ensure effective engagement with icare and employers e.g. Brokers, industry bodies, service providers
Skills & Experience
- Work Health and Safety Qualification (minimum Cert IV) or Allied health qualification e.g. psychology
- A broad range of experience as a Safety and Wellbeing practitioner
- Strong experience in developing and implementing programs and strategies to enhance Safety and Wellbeing
- Strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety and Workers Compensation legislative requirements
- Ability to travel around NSW to attend employer workplaces and icare community events. General industry experience combined with experience in a health, safety, wellbeing or other behavioural change role – preferred
