About the OPPORTUNITYWe have an opportunity for a Safety,
Health & Environment (SHE) Lead to join our team, the location for this role is Flexible. We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and/or hybrid working.
You will be responsible for:As a member of the SHE Defence Delivery Team, in this role you will lead a team and be responsible for development, enacting and embedding robust, defendable and effective programs that add value, are outcomes focused.You will also support and influence line of business programs, managing a team and working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop improvement programs and implement practice which aim to prevent injury and minimise risk.
Key responsibilities include:- Ensure SHE improvement programs are aligned to the BAE SHE strategy, add value and are outcomes focused.
- Deliver sustainable SHE risk reduction programs that identify mitigation opportunities and support continuous improvement.
- Establish effective internal and external communication channels to enable information sharing and develop and maintain relationships to influence and mentor Lines of Business management at all levels.
- Lead the development of the line of business Critical Control program as part of the targeted Significant Injury Fatality (SIF) reductions.
- Mentor and lead a team of SHE specialists, maximising their potential, and supporting a positive employee experience.
- Implementation of robust SHE policy, process and procedure that is ultimately embedded and understood by the business.
- Implement reporting processes and structure to verify the efficiency and effectiveness of SHE performance and systems of work.
About YOU- Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Significant experience in SHE, leading and managing SHE in a large and complex organisation.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks and governance requirements.
- Management of safety, health and environment in a high risk work environment (i.e. mining, construction, manufacturing).
- Tertiary Qualification in Safety or related discipline (Essential).
- Lead ICAM Investigator.
- Strong leadership skills in a similar role.
