Account Manager Councils

With strategically located operations in Dural, Alstonville, and Aradia NSW, spanning over 150 acres, Alpine stands out as a formidable production nursery, consistently offering quality stock.
In our 45 years as a respected wholesale nursery, Alpine has maintained an exclusive focus on trade customers, including landscapers, landscape designers, contractors, architects, local councils, property developers, garden retail centre’s, and government agencies.
We are currently seeking a full-time, dynamic, responsible, and self-motivated Sales Consultant with a keen eye for detail to join our esteemed Retail and Council Sales team at our Dural, NSW office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Discover and drive sales opportunities within the Local Government channel, cultivating relationships with both existing and new councils.
- Prepare quotes and invoice orders, ensuring the maintenance of accurate information systems.
- Prepare and follow through on Local Government tender submissions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our Local Government channel.
- Fulfill orders for plants primarily from Alpine stock or source from other suppliers as required to fulfil council needs.
- Coordinate the production of large, advanced crops for customers.
- Arrange and coordinate deliveries to customers.
- Present and promote the benefits of dealing with Alpine for our council customers.
- Attend sales and marketing events as required.
Experience Required:
- Horticultural knowledge and sales experience (3years) is essential
- Experience in government tendering and selling, along with strong negotiation and objection-handling skills desired.
- FMCG experience also viewed as positive but not essential.
- Good commercial acumen and the ability to translate sales data into results.
- A valid driver's license is required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Cert III in Horticulture, with exceptional plant identification and quality capabilities.
- Sales-focused with a proven track record of delivering results.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Efficient and effective time management.
