Job description
The Sales Engineer is an externally focused, frontline sales position that is best suited for someone with a confident & dynamic personality who enjoys helping customers achieve their goals. You will be responsible for all sales-related functions ranging from assisting consulting engineers with tailored product selection/application to negotiating & closing orders. In this role you will be expected to strengthen existing customer relationships, develop new business, participate in industry networking events, deliver product presentations, visit customers at their offices/jobsites, host customers at Evapco offices/factories, and altogether drive the sales process from start to finish.
You will be based in Sydney CBD office but expected to be “on-the-road” as needed to serve clients and visit Evapco's Head Office at Western Sydney. You are also expected to travel Interstate and overseas as per the requirement.
To be successful in this role, you need the following:
- University bachelor’s degree in any Engineering discipline
- Two (2) or more years of experience in the heat transfer industry (HVAC, Industrial Process, and/or Refrigeration)
- Two (2) or more years of experience with technical business-to-business (B2B) sales
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) and excellent attention to detail.
- Satisfactory proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software products (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and prior experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (preferred)
- Working rights in Australia and a current Driver’s License valid for driving in the state of Queensland.

The successful applicant will be offered a base salary plus sales commission (both paid monthly) commensurate with experience / proven track record of generating success & delivering results (i.e. demonstrated history of hitting sales quotas with respect to both volume and margin). The company will also provide a laptop, mobile phone allowance, and either a company car or car allowance.
